who this is for

This policy explains how the Drown in Fog website handles information. For questions about this site or your correspondence, contact hello@drowninfog.com.

when you visit

Vercel hosts this website and processes technical connection information, such as an IP address, requested page, browser details and request time, to deliver and protect it. See Vercel’s privacy notice for its handling of service data.

Fonts and design assets are served with the site. The public music catalogue is requested by our server from the YouTube Data API; reading the archive does not load a YouTube player in your browser.

when you listen

An embedded YouTube player loads only after you allow YouTube playback. That choice lasts for the current tab’s session. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, but loading or playing it still connects to Google and may use cookies or similar storage. Your IP address, browser information and the page’s origin can be shared with Google.

You can turn playback permission off through privacy choices, which removes an open player. You can also follow a track link to YouTube directly; that service’s own policies then apply. Read Google’s privacy policy and YouTube’s terms.

optional site statistics

If you allow statistics and the service is enabled, Vercel Web Analytics records page visits and aggregate information such as referring site, approximate location, browser, operating system and device type. Vercel describes this service as using aggregate data without third-party cookies.

This site does not send contact form contents or custom listening events to analytics. Query strings and fragments are removed from the page URL sent by our analytics hook. Statistics stay off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.

choices stored on your device

We store your statistics choice locally for up to 180 days. Your YouTube playback and motion choices use session storage. These choices help the site remember what you asked for; they are not advertising identifiers. Browser settings can clear this storage.

Optional services are off by default. There is no advertising tracker or automatic YouTube player on arrival. Changing a choice stops future optional activity on this site; it does not erase information already received by a provider.

when you contact us

The contact form prepares a draft in your email app. It does not send a message or store a copy on this website. If you send the draft, your email provider and the receiving mailbox handle your name, email address and message. We use correspondence to respond to your enquiry. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive account information.

You can contact the address above to ask about your correspondence or request its deletion. Provider handling and any applicable retention requirements may affect what can be removed.
